Jeffrey Castellas
CEO, B.A.Sc. M.A., MCIP

Since 1995, Jeff has worked with the resource and energy industries, finance and investment sectors providing corporate advisory services. He is the cofounder of the AustralAsian Cleantech Forum now in its sixth year bringing investors together with companies and projects for knowledge exchange and commercial interaction. He has played a key role introducing cleantech into Australia and India and has established a global network of investors and pipeline of Cleantech innovation. 
Jeff has founded and built clean technology companies with successful exits. He has structured JV’s and successfully introduced investors raising capital into cleantech companies, funds and projects, particularly between Australia and India. 
Jeff is presently assisting with an institutional capital raising for a major Clean Energy and Technology Fund and is also a leading member of consortia responsible for the debt and equity capital requirements for the development of two 60-150MW Renewable power projects linked with smart grid innovations. Presently he is working with leading dairy farm companies to develop a sustainable dairy farm demonstration project in South Australia which includes the deployment of a suite of clean water, waste and energy technologies with automatic milking, organic fodder and milk power processing for export to India. He also leads clean technology mandates of Australian companies innovation into the India market in partnership with the YES Bank.

Jeff is the CEO of Clean Technology AustralAsia established in 2004 to play a catalytic role in building the Cleantech industry in Australia, to connect investors with cleantech opportunities and to accelerate the investment in and deployment of Clean Technologies in the Asia Pacific. He has advised the Australian governments and the Asia-Pacific Partnership countries (China, India, Korea, Japan, Canada, US and Australia) on investments in Clean Development and Climate projects. Jeff is Chairman of the Australian Cleantech Investment Showcase panel reviewing private and public companies.  Jeff has held senior executive and Board positions of leading companies in Australia and North America.

 


Peter Castellas
Managing Director

Peter is the joint founder and Managing Director of Cleantech AustralAsia, a business established to accelerate the investment in and deployment of clean technologies in the Asia Pacific region. Throughout Peter's 20-year entrepreneurial career, he has worked at the leading edge of the sustainable development agenda and has advised leading corporations, governments and financial institutions. He has designed and run successful Cleantech Finance & Investment Initiatives throughout Asia and has recently completed a major international project for the Asia Pacific Partnership for Clean Development and Climate to develop a Strategic Action plan to increase the investment in and deployment of renewable energy in India.

Peter is also the Fund Advisor of the Sustainable Melbourne Fund where he has pioneered a number of innovative financing models and turnkey solutions for the upgrade and retrofit of commercial buildings. Peter and has held roles including the Sustainability Advisor for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Head of International Business for Melbourne University Private, and National Environmental and Engineering Manager for Dunhill Management Services. Peter is a National Councillor for Environment Business Australia. He is a regular presenter at national and international conferences and graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor of Education in Environmental Studies.

 






Michele Hartz-Rosenberg
Commercialisation Manger

Michele has been the Commercialisation Manager with Cleantech AustralAsia for five years and has been integral to the success and growth of the company.  In addition to a key role in helping to build the Cleantech Forum events into the premier forum on Cleantech in AustralAsia, she was the co-author of the “Victorian Cleantech Industry” report, including Australian Cleantech sector classification. Michele leads market research projects and business planning services for cleantech companies, including SWOT analysis, competitor analysis and risk assessment.

Michele is the founder of Eco-efficient Sustainable Strategies and Environmental Advisory services, established for over 6 years and has advised governments and businesses on international best practice and leading environmental management and corporate sustainable business strategies.  She has also worked with Monash University in research and development of sustainable curriculum and climate change initiatives under the Department of Business Law and Taxation. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Melbourne University, a Graduate Diploma in Corporate Sustainability and Environmental Management from Monash University and Associates Degree in Business from Clark College, USA

 
Geoff Gedge

Since 1994, Geoff has worked extensively within the financial services industry, both as a funds manager for AXA involved with the formation, structuring and distribution of various investment products, and as a corporate trustee, supervising $2.4 billion of retail investors funds, invested across domestic and international equity, fixed interest and property sectors.
For five years from 1999, Geoff’s focus was on corporate advisory work for Credit Suisse within the Asia Pacific region. He has spent considerable time working on property, infrastructure, and financial services projects throughout New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Hong Kong and China, undertaking a variety of M&A roles and providing clients with a number of debt and equity solutions for their projects.
 
Geoff is a Director of Greroc Advisory Partners which is a boutique private advisory firm established in 2006 with a specific focus on investment opportunities that arise from Australia and New Zealand’s vibrant and broad unlisted direct property funds management and associated clean technology sectors. Grenroc is a specialist adviser and manager in unlisted direct property investment funds and associated built environment clean technology. Grenroc advises on mergers, acquisitions, divestments and capital raisings for unique, scalable and competitive growth opportunities including businesses whose products and services have the potential of gaining niche or dominant market share.
 
Grenroc forms part of a specialist partnership of advisory firms providing coverage throughout the East Coast of Australia, New Zealand and Asia, all of whom work together with the one common interest of achieving success for their client’s projects.
 
David Hunt

David is an experienced CEO for an ASX listed company, non executive Director, and a successful Marketing and Communications Executive. David has held several director positions in early stage companies and managed and implemented successful commercialisation strategies.  David has utilised his expertise and experience to assist companies plan their business to be successful and sustainable. With insight to what it takes to raise capital in difficult times, and across global markets, David advises companies on structure, quality management, and capital requirements for pre IPO readiness, IPO where appropriate and exits. He is a specialist in Change Management; Business Restructuring; Expansion & Growth capital raising.
 
David is a Partner and Managing Director of SustainAsia (Australia) Pty Ltd which is a joint venture with Sustain Asia (Hong Kong) that provides local expertise and advisory services to investors and companies from the Cleantech and Eco-efficiency sectors, as well as independent assessments of investments and market opportunities. SustainAsia provides professional, realistic and competent management advisers who can assist with broad business solutions for SME’s, owner managed businesses, and corporations involved in the cleantech and sustainable sector. As a joint venture with SustainAsia Hong Kong we have strategic and direct links to significant Asian investors; private equity funds and industry research. Sustain Asia provides companies a means of accelerating their growth in China and South East Asia.
 
 
Jeremy Baker
 
As an experienced Investment Banker, Jeremy has worked for leading global investment firms based in the United States, including AG Edwards and  Fleet Bank Boston / Bank of America.  In these roles Jeremy has worked on economic research, company analysis, investment selection and financial structuring. Jeremy has extensive experience in quantitative and qualitative fundamental and technical equity analysis, portfolio management and investment strategy holding licenses and operating on exchanges including the ASX and NYSE. Jeremy brings a blend of knowledge in both international and domestic financial markets and a strong desire to see the continued success of Australasia as a primary location of interest for international investment in the deployment of clean technology and alternative energy.
 
Jeremy Baker, B.Com, Dip (FP), GradCert BA, A.A.M.S. is Executive Director, Operations for Bakers Investment Group – a financial services company in the energy, infrastructure and transport sectors with a special focus on alternate energy and clean technology.  In his role Jeremy looks after the firms operational requirements, including operations for the firms key services comprising: Funds, Indices Research, Trading and Corporate Finance.

Paul Bitetto
 
Paul Bitetto, MEI (Hons), Dipl. Eng (Elec Eng) is Director of Green Venture Capitals. He has an extensive background in business and project management and has spent several years in South East Asia working with a multitude of cultures including clients from Taiwan, Singapore, China, Indonesia and South Korea.

With an active interest in entrepreneurship and innovation, Paul worked closely with staff at Indonesia's prominent Institute of Bandung (ITB), School of Business and Management, and was an advisor to the Centre for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Leadership (CIEL) of ITB.  

With studies in electronics engineering, languages, art, drama and business, Paul brings an eclectic and multi-faceted approach to the team at Green Venture Partners. Paul has an honours degree from the Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship and is an avid futurist, actively following the discipline of Strategic Foresight in the context of our business.  Paul is also Managing Director of Smart Capital Funds. Smart Capital Funds was founded in 2008 by Swinburne University AGSE graduate, Paul Bitetto (MEI Hons).  The Smart Capital Group (SCG) was launched as an information portal for our investor networks and companies. The Smart Capital Group help connect entrepreneurs and innovative businesses with investors and capital funds. Our business in essence is making connections through marketing and investor relations. Our team has grown and part of our network now extends across international borders, providing access to investor networks in Europe and the Asia-Pacific.
 
Tobi Nagy
 
Tobi Nagy, MEI (Hons), B. Eng (Hons), A.Dip (Man.Eng) is CEO of Green Ventures Partners.  Tobi is strategist, commercialisation consultant and mentor to small and medium enterprises. He has worked to develop and commercialise innovations including strategic development, financial modelling, and finance, grant sourcing and planning with start-up entrepreneurs. Tobi himself has run a number of successful start-up businesses in the area of fashion, food and consulting.

His expertise lays in sustainable development, including renewable energy, recycling, and eco-tourism as well as Information, Communication and Technology (ICT), manufacturing and business and health services. Green Venture Partners P/L (GVP) is a new collaboration of two existing operating businesses (Think-Grow-Sustain and Smart Capital Funds), under one umbrella, who are already in the market providing a range of equity and debt solutions for small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs). GVP has identified a range of capital raising problems, that are difficult and not being addressed correctly by financial markets and institutions.
 
Adrian Spencer

Adrian Spencer established GrantReady™ to bring insight, focus and experience to the grant application process. He has worked in the grant space since 2000 with over 10 years experience as a government grants advisor. Adrian has a science trained background, with the ability to quickly understand, assess, articulate and convey key elements of innovative businesses and their projects. He has worked as a program assessor for government and also provides services to government in the monitoring and development of grant programs. Adrian is passionate about advancing the grants sector and invests considerable time supporting and training organisations, associations, individuals, and government. He writes many publications and also provides specialist support to organisations such as KPMG, NAB, Bendigo Bank, RMIT and others.
 
Aaron D'Orival

Aaron has a background in both financial services and the not-for-profit sector. He has a comprehensive knowledge of funding available to business and community groups, and has hands on experience in a broad range of sectors, including not-for-profits, agriculture, ICT, cleantech and export. Aaron develops strategies for successive grant applications and supports organisations throughout the application process. Aaron’s previous experience varies across many industry sectors and has most recently involved business management for both profit and not-for-profit organisations.
Aaron’s specialties include business management, project management, process analysis and optimization, and risk management. GrantReady™ works with hundreds of organisations each year to find and apply for suitable grants, from start-ups to multi-national companies. In the last 12 months alone, GrantReady™ has directly helped access over $20 million in grants and rebates. In the past 7 years, GrantReady™ has assisted organisations to access over $53 million.
 
Warwick Peel

Recognising the dawn of a new market Commencing executive recruitment in 1998, Warwick worked across Australia for a national search firm. He joined MSC/Berkeley Monroe in London in 2000 and recruited in the UK and European financial markets for five years.and having a passion for sustainability and the environment, Warwick is a co-founder of pb Human Capital. He is responsible for sustainability, energy and carbon markets, finance and investment markets, and management consulting placements.
